Parks are urban oases. Everyone loves parks – young and old ones. We have our best memories coming from hanging out at parks. Playing, reading, having a picnic, just chatting with friends, jogging and exercising in the mornings, watching the leaves fall in autumn, watching the trees and flowers blossom in spring, finding a piece of shade in summer, sculpting a snowman in winter, playing snowballs and so much more.
I have very personal memories attached to a park, where I played with my Dad. He died in an accident and after a while I found that the park was set to be demolished due to disrepair. Here on my blog you can read about how I saved that parked, renamed it after my dad and you can learn about my job. I lobby councils across the state and the country to build parks.
